#rant How to waste a nice sunday by installing legacy ProTools 12 on a legacy MacPro5,1 (a fast & reliable multicore video editing machine):

•  Install KarabinerElements for that PT keyboard … no, you can't have a ^ on it …
•  Avid account deadname removal.
• iLok USB dongle activation hassle.
•  Install ProTools. Studio environment & hardware assignment.
•  Import audio to make PT crash.
•  Reboot ffs & retry to make it crash again.
• […]
•  Realise it took hours to fix countless glitches, configure and complete unsuccessfully.
• Think of Avid forums gonna go like obsolete tech not being eligible for support other than mansplaining obvious capitalist realism b$ by the dudes …  

Should've switched to Bitwig years ago when told by longtime PT users …  After 10 years I'm done for good with Avid products and licensing politics.
