Our love for #NTTW conference @nttw bubbled over again so we poured it into a World Preservation Day blog on the BFI’s Inside the Archive blog:

A few favourite things from #NTTW9, where I caught COVID as well as the infectious positivity of the best conference crowd around! National Library of Ireland, Dublin was a spectacular setting. Thanks sponsors, hosts and #NTTW organisers ❤️

Proposed this lightning talk for #NoTimeToWait9:

-------------------------------
Long-Term LTO: Stable LTO for "generations"?

What if we could get out of the #LTO-Generations update-race?
[...]
In this short talk, I'll present on how we might actually be able to get proper "Long-Term LTO" support for certain LTO-generations.

If this sounds interesting to you, let me know! 💾 💽

Declarative programming for Digital Preservationists @ NTTW8

by @beet_keeper

Just released on the No Time to Wait (NTTW) YouTube channel is my presentation from NTTW8 in Karlsruhe, Germany. (Slides also available here).

The presentation follows up on my proposal for iPRES 2024 and allowed me to present parts of what was, in the end, a pretty significant paper (in terms of word count).

Some of my reflections on the presentation are below.

@BertrandCaron Looking forward!Ttime to pull the #nttw hashtag out of the drawer.

#ProRes follow-up for #iPRES2024.

Thanks @reto for the link to your #NTTW presentation. The #nttweffect is strong!

@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] To transcode ProRes to FFV1 should give a bigger file. We re-wrapped ProRes into Matroska during our first migration from LTO-4 to LTO-6. I presented this at a NTTW conference, as well as here: https://retokromer.ch/publications/IASA_49

@BertrandCaron @r2gf I am also feeling the #FOMO for #NTTW8. It's especially sad because the workshop I'm co-hosting this year was inspired by #NTTW last year (AKA #nttwEffect). I'm planning to catch Friday sessions, but meetings are already sneaking up on me.
@r2gf
Same! I'm gonna miss entirely #NTTW because of #iPRES2024 preparation...
😭
@JennyMitcham Yes, I definitely agree it's the best version. It's time for me to reread the book, though. I doubt Brighton will live up to Lydia's hype, but we'll see. I'm not going to lie, it's hard for any conference to top the #NTTW energy
