Public transport fare increase from today by 2.75%
9 days interruption to MyWay+ feed for 3rd party apps all because of an expired SSL cert. Wtaf. Why wasn't this resolved during the week?!
From Friday the 12th, it will be free to use buses and lightrail from 6pm Fridays and 6pm Saturdays until the end of February.

This is a concerning interaction. But the bigger issue is that we have spent a lot of funds deploying a new ticketing and real-time time information system. Transport Canberra should have the ability to flag a service as cancelled, so users accessing transit information can see this. The fact that this is either not an option, or isn't being used as such is disappointing and a reason why some people will continue to not use transit.
Chris Steel was censured regarding the MyWay+ rollout after the report from the committee was tabled in the assembly. Greens MLA Andrew Braddock moved the motion.
Canberra Liberals leader Leanne Castley threatened future censure motions if CM Andrew Barr did not keep his ministers accountable.
I am not surprised at all that the committee found that the community testing of MyWay+ was meaningless in terms of its impact on the project. I am speaking from a place as someone who was part of that testing.
MyWay+ data seems to be live in the Transit App.
Canberra’s public transport is a mess. Just some of the issues.
- last week I caught 5 buses, only 2 had working Myway+. We are paying for a revenue collection system that doesn’t collect revenue.
- timetables at interchanges not updated to new schedule from changes in May 2025
- screens and announcements on buses not working all the time
- some buses don’t have realtime data.
- real time data inaccurate by up to 5 minutes.*
- QR code doesn’t work in bright conditions
- occasionally QR reader triggers NFC resulting in incorrect payment.
- paper tickets being activated on fare free days.

I've discovered today on my journey to Richardson, that my #mywayplus card was overdrawn again when I was trying to tap off, which was failing. This is the second time this has happened to me now, where it has allowed me to tap on but not off due to a funds issue.
There is no way to tell this without checking online or via a ticket machine. Validators don't tell you that there are no or negative funds, or that your account is temporarily blocked.
Did anyone else get notified that they were caught up in a MyWay+ data breach?
I didn't know there was one until I got an email. I can see CT reported on a breach about a month ago, but I am no longer sub to CT.
