I'm doing my usual thing of running the first session on Friday finishing at midnight, then crashing in a cheap hotel in the centre of Birmingham for a few hours before getting back to the NEC for the second game at 09.00 the next morning. This way I feel like I'm a character in a live-action Noir game.

This week's #DCC #session was a comedy of fumbles.
The party are in the undercity and have just arrived at the shore of the bricked-over and forgotten River Flēot.
Lurking in the depths is the water hag Peg Powler. As Powler's hideous visage emerges from the waters, the party move to defend themselves.

Progress on the #dccrpg #cavernsofthracia campaign has been impeded by player availability (standard, right?) but hopefully beginning to build some momentum.
The party hiked for four days across the Island of Thracia - dodging Gnolls, animated statues, and even a ghost - from their home village of Pelagios and reached the town of Hamlet.
Hamlet is a colony town from the nearby regional power Hellentium (Byzantium-ish) centered around a castle and small harbour on the mighty River Styx.
Yesterday I played role-playing games with a bunch of strangers and it was fun!
A random post on Mastodon caught my attention (thanks hashtags!) and I signed up for the game.
Although I've played a lot of #RPG over the years, especially #rolemaster in the 90s and #DungeonWorld in the 2000s, I haven't played much in the last 10+ years.
This was a great way to get back into it - no campaign pressure, no long character generation, just an old-fashioned bit of dungeon-crawling and monster-bashing with #DCCRPG and it's unusual dice system.
We played in a local social club - right alongside a bunch of old ladies playing bridge and asking us to keep it down.
