Enjoyed the Hallyu - The Korean Wave exhibition at the National Museum this morning. A history lesson and a 90s explosion of pop culture with music, film and fashion artefacts on display.

Then, it was off to the Australian Scrabble championships to see how serious Scrabblers get their Scrabble on.

Drastic and courageous, it doesn’t end with the police confiscating posters in an Australian bar. Jack and Mark Blam from London aren’t afraid to take risks.

Ouroboros II.
Some say we are made of stardust.I have photographed the ouroboros before (for all that information see here: Ouroboros), but here is a more recent detail shot that turned out quite nice methinks.

Treasury fountain.
I have ridden past this fountain many times, but today was the first time in a long time I have seen all the water spouts in action. This necessitated an immediate side quest to take some photos.
The fountain was designed by the Melbourne sculptor Norma Redpath and cast in Milan in 1965. It is described as a two piece bronze abstract sculpture and fountain.
Personally I think it is one of the better looking fountains in Canberra. Perhaps deserving of a place a little less depressing than the National Treasury Building.
Anyways, all was going swimmingly well until I (somewhat stupidly…is my brain even turned on?) pointed my camera into the building to try and get a shot of the fountain reflected in the windows.
Security was on me in a swift jiffy.
Maybe I look a little sus; I don’t know.
My penance, a short lecture on the perils of photographing through the windows of government buildings…especially the Treasury.
The picture below gives a nice composition of the two halves of the sculpture. What you can’t see is an angry security dude standing right on the other side of that reflection!
