Hiding from the overnight rain under the roller blinds this morning was this very fragile-looking, almost transparent creature, which might be Siona lineata, or a Black-veined moth.
When I first noticed it, its wings were fully spread out, and I could almost see right through them.
Most of the white butterflies or moths around here that I've previously seen rarely seem to perch anywhere for long, making most of my photographic efforts to capture them so far pretty rubbish. For once, I'm rather pleased with this one!

Spotted this ruby tiger moth (Phragmatobia fuliginosa) with vibrant hot pink body & legs hiding amongst a clump of dandelions. Just one of many reasons I let dandelions be in my garden. You never know who is tucked away safely in there

This angle shades moth looks like it has been in a fight, or else been shot down in flames during a dogfight, with its slightly serrated rear wing edges. It was surprisingly (to me at least) immobile, which didn't seem to be the best strategy to hide itself from being eaten, nor was its choice of hiding place against a teak stained outside table.

Typing in the word "moth" in my Google Photos collection brought up some very strange suggestions, including pictures of foxes! Switched to "moths", and got a slightly more relevant selection. Here's a small emperor moth that I found on the window sill outside one day. I find the spots a little bit hypnotic, and staring at them for too long makes me go cross-eyed. Anyway, hope you had a mothtastic Sunday.

Tiger moth that didn't quite manage to dodge the raindrops last night. Im sure it dodged the bats, but the rain looks like it got it.

Jersey Tiger moth - flying around my garden just now. What you can't see from this photo is the bright orange colours under the wings which are really striking in flight.
