Hello everyone,
Please note that this is just one of thousands of thousands wining cases against capitalists and there are countless labor exploitation ongoing that we can't ignore. However, it is necessary to celebrate our win regardless how big or small it is because the more we have fun, the more power we gain back to our spirits.
This is a mix of Isan (Northeast Thailand and Laos) instruments and vocals. The lyrics of Isan songs most of the time about life in poverty, rural communities, love, and critique towards government. It was the most challenged one ever for me, I only had 6 hours before the set to prepare everything including digging the songs. Thank you to Bangkok Lefty Book Club again for sending me songs and helped me observing people at the camp about what kind of songs they like. I also cannot use headphones and cannot hear music clearly from where I stand because of their barely-working speaker lol. More than that, there was a nationalist protest outside that has really good speakers 💀 so I was ultra locked in to finish this set. I hope this raw resistance from the real field breaks through the algorithm and reaches everyone with humanity heart. I want you to know that in another corner of this earth there's always someone doing absolutely anything and working with whatever we have to curate immaculate vibes and find joy in our life.
Just a little TMI, while mixing this set I was thinking about the mass elimination of communists and leftists during 1950s in Thailand. Students and activists were murdered and mass of people fled to the forest in Isan and live there, they created armed resistance group and also art, music, and literature. It was the era that heavily influenced by tension between the U.S. and Soviet Unions after WWII and cold war.
