A Gee Bee Sportster racing plane at the Evergreen Air Museum in McMinnville, Oregon. Demonstration of anaglyph color deviation, using the same #3d view edited in different ways.

First is Dubois anaglyph, which does an okay job with the color red, but only just. It's really bad at the color blue (of which there is very little in this photo.) Dubois supposedly reduces "ghosting," which means you see a little bit of the right image with your left eye, and vice versa. I can see plenty of ghosting in the cowl of this plane. However, the color looks good without the red/blue glasses, IMO.

Second is the standard color anaglyph, which turns the reds into ugly browns. It does better with the color blue (of which there is... etc.)

Third is B/W anaglyph, which ignores color entirely. There's a lot of ghosting on the cowl in this image.

Finally, a parallel view which is tough for some people to view, but which preserves all the colors of the original.

Anaglyph is, at best, a compromise.
