Old Manali: A SHORT Trip Here!
Old Manali seems to attract people who happen to be more inward-looking than most other tourist spots in Manali. Although, you may find that the rest of Manali is now oversaturated with tourists, there is something very simple, calming & nurturing about Old Manali. It can be your kinda place, if you are up for a solo crowd-escaping adventure in the mountains! Now, let’s check that spot off your bucket list.
I am right at the start of a mind-numbing, life-changing travel journey, and I am starting slow. First up, I hit up Manali, since it is the closest Himalayan resort town to me. I only did a 48-hour trip, but I enjoyed the slow pace and the evergreen pleasant vibes around the narrow lanes.

Oh! Now that I am talking more openly about my dreams of travelling + storytelling, here’s my 1st Old Manali vlog to give you a closer look of my experience. Mostly, I did walk around quite a lot, worked from my room and also, tried the Nepali and the German breakfasts in town. Keep following me on YouTube and explore India with me!
While this was a really short trip, I still recommend the following few things:
Check out German Bakery & Nepali Sandwich Bar
Stay at La Voglia or Desire Hostel
Check out this one really nice faux leather bag shop down the streets on your left, if you coming from the top. Oh. My. God. My foreign friends, they sell incredible things that may be very expensive for you outside. The owner is a gem-hearted guy, and his brother owns a shop in Germany. You can trust the quality.
I also recommend the Bhagsu Cake, if you have never ever tried this famous local delicacy in the Himalayan hills. Its mostly a mix of dark chocolate on a biscuit base. It is the Indian version of shortbread. Damn tasty!
I hope that as I grow in my storytelling journey, ‘THE WORD OF AISH’, and grow my YouTube channel, I can show you more and more about the beautiful land I call home.
Bbye!
