Ja, ich weiß, es ist gegen das "Gesetz", aber ich fahre auch 200km am Stück mit Flatpedalen und habe meine Gründe.

Leider wird es immer schwieriger Schuhe zu finden, die:

• keine Cleat-Aufnahme haben
• kein BOA, keine Schnallen
• dafür aber eine möglichst harte/stabile Sohle besitzen

Irgendwelche Tipps oder Geheimtipps? 👀

Currently training to bike a distance of 200 km, and building up my distance for it. I rode 160 km last year as my longest distance, but I'm surprised again by how much extra chores it is riding those distances.

There's more bike maintenance to do because of the high mileage. Routes to plan, including making a plan for resupplying on water and snacks. Setting your kit out and cleaning it again afterwards. Eating enough and the right things.

But also a sad note to this: When I import one of those annotated GPX files into Garmin via Connect, it only picks up the route points that are right on the course, not those with a little distance.

I also can't manually add a course point in the Connect web app that is not directly on the course.

If anyone is aware of a workaround, that would be great 🙂

I found a lovely tool for planning long-distance cycling or walking routes, where you need to resupply along the route:

You upload your GPX route, set a distance you're willing to go from it, and get a map with gas stations, supermarkets, cafes, bakeries, etc. on it as POI. You can then select favorites, and export them as GPX again, to use when riding or walking.

When you're cycling long distance, and you're passing some place where you can fill up on water, and you're thinking about whether or not you actually need to: Yes, you need to. You always should fill up on water if you're lower than half and still have some way to go.

Now if only I could remember that one when I'm out on a ride, and don't want to stop at that gas station because I'm rolling right now...

Sehän on vain kaksi viikkoa helatorstaihin! Silloin luvassa noin 500 kilsaa pyÜräilyä torstain ja perjantain aikana! Kokeillaan perättäisten ajopäivien ajokuntoa ja päivitettyä majoituskalustoa jossain Mäntyharjun huudeilla.
