December with MECFS is just ☠️
December with MECFS is just ☠️
These past weeks I've been thinking about, how would my day be different if I lived in an utopic parallel timeline? How would the little things look like?
Today I'm still sick with a nasty cold, haven't been this sick since COVID. Unlike that, this one is improving daily. It's a bit more challenging with MECFS. I always mask.
In the parallel world, I wouldn't be sick today. All indoor places have excellent ventilation and filtration, and airborne diseases are rather rare.
Today I got to see three storks circling above me, calling. I never thought this would be something I get to see!
Then two red kites joined.
And I found a tiny, probably young patch of wild garlic. It was still spreading, and there were too few plants to collect more than a few symbolic leaves, but still.
Finished mending a bag today.
It's an original late 90s messenger bag which has seen 6 continents, the Arctic and the Subantarctic... And countless countries with me.
It took 8 washes to get it clean enough for the washing machine, washing out decades of accumulated dust from around the world, and memories from another life.
Then a few hours of mending torn places. Ready for the next 25 years.

I've apparently cycled over 200 miles on my E-Bike since getting it in August. This is astonishing! It's become a vital mobility aid, allowing me to go places that were out of reach and to get around even when I don't have a good day. For a healthy person this is peanuts, but to me it's widened my world.
