Strong menthol, sweet mint notes behind the peppermint, and the additional spices don’t overwhelm or distract from the mint. I may reduce the amount of sugar and increase the water, but this is definite progress.
Here’s a Stinger made with this Test #2 menthe and an Armagnac blanche in a 1:2 ratio. You can really see how green the crème de menthe got.
Update on Crème de Menthe Test #2:
I wasn’t able to time the infusion as closely as I wanted to. After I started the test, we ended up spending a week at various hospitals. All is well, and my folks strained the test for me after around 36-48 hours of infusing. The result? A stronger mint flavor without an increase of the chlorophyll vegetal taste of the longer previous test.
Tasting notes to follow.

Here's Thomas Mario, Playboy Magazine's food and drink editor, fucking up the basics of sloe gin in 1954.
Sloe gin is made by macerating already distilled gin with sloe berries and adding sugar (or syrup).
If you distilled the gin with the sloes as Mario describes you'd lose all the colour and some of the flavour.
