I'll be leading a #SloeGin focussed #foraging walk this Saturday in #BleanWood.
Learn to identify and responsibly harvest a variety of wild edibles. Then transform your foraged treasures into a delectable batch of sloe gin. Learn the traditional techniques, from maceration to infusion, and create a unique blend bursting with flavour.

Here's Thomas Mario, Playboy Magazine's food and drink editor, fucking up the basics of sloe gin in 1954.
Sloe gin is made by macerating already distilled gin with sloe berries and adding sugar (or syrup).
If you distilled the gin with the sloes as Mario describes you'd lose all the colour and some of the flavour.
Sloe gin has nothing to do with speed - sloes are the drupe of the blackthorn plant.
