Indeed, if you look closely at the rock around the fall in Linn Park, you can see it forms the same hexagonal columns found in areas of basalt like the Giant's Causeway or Fingal's Cave (just fewer in number and not quite as impressive in size).
The linn after which Linn Park on the Southside of Glasgow is named. A linn is the Scottish term for a waterfall consisting of a narrow channel or gorge cut by water flowing through an area of hard rock. In this case, the rock is microgabbro, a volcanic intrusion similar to bassalt.

The surviving mill building (just visible to the right of the bridge) also dates from the mid to late 1700s, while the blonde sandstone tenement was built by the then mill owner in 1863 as accommodation for their mill workers. Terrace of white houses beside also seem to have been part of the mill complex.

Snuff Mill Bridge in the Cathcart area of Glasgow. Dating from the early to mid-18th Century, the bridge is named after the old mill which was once located on this site, and at the far end, a small arch can be seen over what was presumably once the mill's lade. This mill began life as a paper mill before being converted into a snuff mill, and then back to a paper mill making cardboard.
