I've finally been referred to a 'local' M.E. clinic - it's miles away but they also work via Teams apparently & I'll have my hearing aids & lipreading, so will hopefully be ok.

Also applied for PIP - not for CFS/M.E. as I doubt I'd get it on that, but for my lifetime deafness + hearing aids costs. NHS don't offer the ones I need & I'd only get one anyway! My hearing aids are £2k+ & I'm on my second pair 😭 So expensive 🙄

I will always share the best advice I was given growing up second to "Learn how to relax."

Be a regular someplace outside your home/work. Maybe a bar, a group, an activity with peers. Be a regular somewhere.

Make friends and have community. It goes beyond you. Help build and contribute to something larger.

good morning friends, it's time for another round of #LifeStuff, the tag for trying to get things done. it's been a while since I've done one

to-do list:
✓ eat breakfast
- start a load of laundry
- unpack/put away blankets and towels (now that the linen closet is accessible)

... and idk, maybe I'll do more, but that list is making me tired already. me wanting to do a Life Stuff post is usually a good sign that I'm climbing out of a #depression pit, but I've been very depressed for many months, so I'd rather not overdo it

anyway, here goes! I just finished my breakfast, let's start some laundry!

The List:
✓ eat breakfast
✓ laundry: washed, a few things are dried, the rest is hanging to dry!
✓ move bedside table back to the bedroom and put stuff back on it
✓ put the cedar chest at the end of my bed
✓ wipe down cedar chest, inside and out
- find homes for: ottoman, brass container, two green glass chickens, candy dish, CD player, some large paintings
- put woolens in cedar chest!
- collapse, probably

so really, I got a ton of stuff done! also I started reading my TLoZ The Minish Cap/Phantom Hourglass manga that I got in San Francisco. it's very cute so far EXCEPT for the bit where Link, in tiny form, looks up some woman's skirt, like, what the actual fuck???

this thing being in front of my bed is going to take some getting used to lol I keep barking my calves (the back part, not the shins) when I try to flop onto my bed 🤣

I do kinda want to try to get it refinished, with ideally a stain rather than paint, so we can see the wood grain

also, in the second photo there's two long nails poking through the bottom, bent so they won't stab me, at least. not really visible, in the top left corner: a screw sticking out of the bottom, just poking up, ready to stab my hand

so, even if I can't get it refinished anytime soon, I do need to come up with a diy fix for at minimum the screw

but AAAHHHHH I'm so excited about this piece!

my mother's mother's mother, Mary Green, painted this. at first I thought it was a sparrow (one of my favorite birds), but apparently it's a tufted titmouse, which is still a good bird 😅
