Last night, we saaw The Sound of Music on Tour at Broadway In Hollywood. Yes, a chestnut, but an extremely well done chestnut with wonderful performances from Cayleigh Capaldi and Kevin Earley (whom we have been following since Sheri-Lynn Maeda introduced us back in 2006; I swear he must have a mirror in his closet). Well worth seeing.

Saturday evening we saw Fallstaff at LA Opera. I was busy doing the first part of the ballot analysis, so I didn't get the writeup done until this morning. Last night, we saw "Real Women Have Curves" at Casa 0101 Theater in Boyle Heights. Excellent production, and a wonderful story of family, friendship, struggle, and real life immigrants. Go see it (and I hope a local playhouse will opt to produce the recent Broadway musical version, as it isn't going on tour (to my knowledge)).

Last night, we saw "Spamalot" at Broadway In Hollywood / Hollywood Pantages Theatre. For a show that I thought wouldn't have a long life back in 2009, it was surprisingly good the second time around. Topical updates, improvisation, and a cast that was clearly having fun made this a very enjoyable show. Go see it.

Yesterday afternoon, we saw "The Play That Goes Wrong" at 5-Star Theatricals in Thousand Oaks. Well executed and well performed, although they missed some printed program aspects that would have helped map performers to characters better. Especially if you haven't seen this before, it is well worth seeing.
