The name plate was designed in #FreeCAD¹, sliced in #PrusaSlicer¹, and printed on my custom-built 3D printer. Its parts were designed and shared by @bear_lab and runs on #MarlinFW.

The leatherette was designed in #Inkscape, the G-code generated with #KiriMoto, and cut with a custom little #vinylCutter attachment for the 3D printer².

First proper job for the #penPlotter attachment for the 3D printer — works as intended. 🙂

Go grab these builds or clone the latest KM repo to get total control over your LAN mode Bambu printers from within the slicer. It's entirely open source and doesn't use Bambu's closed binary network plugin. https://github.com/GridSpace/grid-apps/releases/tag/4.1-pre

Kiri:Moto 4.0 was released yesterday with native or local app bundles.

It saved me from not having any cam solution for my mill at all so I was really relieved back then when I could produce parts again <3.

I still prefer that to having everything hosted in the server, especially with my single user and single place usecase. There was a hosted version by the devs too and that worked well but good ol' local just feels safer.

It especially fits well for SolveSpace as I accepted that I always have to force bodys to triangle meshes. It´s fine as the project files can be used to make all the necessary changes. Not a problem if the CAD is open. The precision of the generated stls seems to be enough for all the parts I ´ve printed yet and is adjustable anyway.

I might try the fdm slicer soon as well out of curiosity.

The laser section seems to "only" handle single lines for cutouts without the ability to laser images with adjusted power yet.

(Just some random thoughts, most already know It I suppose)

First time in ages been playing with #kirimoto in #CNC / #CAM mode. An excellent #opensource tool.

Want to learn more about Kiri:Moto?

First, check out the Kiri:Moto documentation.

The Kiri:Moto category in the Grid Space forum is a great place to ask questions, both for users and developers.

If you like to chat in real time, the Grid Space Discord server has a general #kirimoto channel as well as channels for each of the FDM, CNC, and laser uses and a #developers channel.

14h d’impression (dixit #kirimoto).
A demain…
