The New York Times reports that several journalists who traveled by car from Kabul to Kandahar experienced only order, security, and a remarkably well-constructed road with not even a small crack to be seen throughout the entire journey.

The newspaper wrote that this 483-kilometer road between Kabul and Kandahar, which was once dangerous and a difficult wasteland, can now be traveled by anyone without fear or danger.

According to the source, the journey from Kabul to Kandahar previously took 18 hours, but now, with its reconstruction, travelers reach Kandahar in just eight hours.

The New York Times further wrote that, in addition to the reconstruction of the Kabul-Kandahar highway, the Islamic Emirate is also building a second lane, reduced the weight limits for cargo trucks, and built mosques every seventy kilometers to ensure the security and order of the road.

The source also stated that this is the Afghanistan that the Islamic Emirate has rebuilt after the departure of the United States, where security is ensured, order prevails, and there are many signs of economic progress.

The New York Times also reported that the reconstruction of the Kabul-Kandahar highway is a symbol of infrastructure development and security in Afghanistan.

The New York Times reports:

Our reporters traveled by car from Kabul to Kandahar.

The Kabul-Kandahar highway, approximately 500 kilometers long, has not only been significantly improved for the domestic economy, but two additional lanes are also being added.

While the visa section of the Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul has long been accused of corruption in issuing visas to Afghan applicants, my experiences, both during the former Republic government and more recently, confirm that these allegations are not merely rumors.

In 2016, one of my family members paid a $200 commission to secure a visa for Pakistan who needed to travel to there for medical treatment. More recently, in 2024, five of my extended family members traveled through Pakistan on their way to Europe. Each of them had to pay between $500 and $2,000 to obtain a Pakistani visa.

In one case, a family member’s visa application was rejected three times. As a result, the demanded payment increased to $2,000 before the visa was finally issued.

Based on these experiences, dear @taahir_khan, it is clear to me that the reports of corruption at the Pakistani Embassy in Kabul are grounded in reality rather than speculation.

Preliminary work on the construction of the new Hazara-Baghl connecting road is underway!

The initial work on the construction of the new connecting road for Hazara-Baghl, related to the eleventh and seventeenth districts, from area 315 to the area of Munshi Mir Ghulam and continuing to the Kabul-Parwan road, is being carried out by the Kabul Municipality.

This road, designed in two sections, has a total length of 6,684 meters and a width of 30 meters.

The project for building this road includes the construction of drains, sidewalks, retaining walls along the road, culverts, lighting systems, road markings, and other details of a standard road, and is scheduled to be completed fundamentally and according to standards within the next 20 months.

This road, which is considered an alternative route to Khair Khana Road, plays an important role in the northern zone of Kabul, especially in reducing traffic congestion on the Khair Khana road and in the area's economic development.

کارهای مقدماتی ساختمان سرک جدید اتصالی هزاره‌بغل جریان دارد!

کارهای مقدماتی ساختمان سرک جدید اتصالی هزاره‌بغل، از ساحهٔ ۳۱۵ الی ساحهٔ منشی میر غلام و در نهایت تا سرک کابل–پروان، در مربوطات نواحی یازدهم و هفدهم از سوی شاروالی کابل ادامه دارد.

این سرک در دو بخش طراحی شده و طول مجموعی آن به ۶٬۶۸۴ متر با عرض ۳۰ متر می‌رسد.

این پروژه شامل اعمار آبروها، پیاده‌روها، دیوارهای استنادی در امتداد سرک، پلچک‌ها، سیستم تنویر، خط‌اندازی جاده و سایر اجزای یک سرک معیاری می‌باشد که قرار است طی ۲۰ ماه آینده به‌گونهٔ اساسی و معیاری تکمیل گردد.

ساختمان و احداث این سرک که به‌عنوان سرک بدیل کوتل خیرخانه محسوب می‌شود، در زون شمال شهر کابل از اهمیت ویژه‌ای برخوردار بوده و نقش مؤثری در کاهش ازدحام ترافیکی مسیر کوتل خیرخانه و همچنان رشد اقتصادی و انکشافی ساحات هم‌جوار ایفا خواهد کرد.
