The Ministry of Public Health has announced that Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali discussed with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Xing the implementation of a program to increase the capacity of the traditional medicine section of Al-Shifa Hospital and the reconstruction of Mirwais Hazrati Hospital in Kandahar.
The Minister of Public Health requested the Chinese Ambassador to support the expansion and reconstruction of Mirwais Hospital, as well as provide the necessary equipment for Al-Shifa Hospital, in addition to establishing a traditional medicine institute.
Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador pledged to support the development of Mirwais Hospital, enhance the capacity of healthcare workers, and provide the necessary equipment and medicines for the hospital.

The Minister of Public Health, Mawlavi Noor Jalal Jalali, held a meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, Zhao Xing, to discuss key areas of cooperation in Afghanistan’s health sector.
During the meeting, both sides focused on the provision of medical equipment for Al-Shifa Hospital, the implementation of capacity-building programs in the field of traditional medicine, and the initiation and advancement of the reconstruction and development of Mirwais Regional Hospital in Kandahar.
Minister Jalali emphasized that strengthening the capacity of healthcare workers, developing the health sector, and equipping hospitals are essential steps toward improving the country’s overall health system.
The Chinese Ambassador reaffirmed China’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan by assisting in the reconstruction and development of Mirwais Regional Hospital, enhancing the skills of healthcare workers, and providing necessary medical equipment and medicines.
