Heavy rains and floods have caused casualties of 11 people in five provinces.

The National Disaster Preparedness Agency stated that floods, causing property damage, have occurred in numerous provinces of the country over the past 24 hours due to rainfall.

Agency spokesperson Mohammed Yousuf Hamad said that five people were killed and six others were injured due to the rains and floods in Parwan, Paktia, Kandahar, Zabul, and Helmand provinces.

Sixteen homes have been completely destroyed and 87 others have been partially damaged.

The Ministry of Repatriation and Returnees Affairs announced that 426 Afghan migrants were deported from various prisons in Pakistan and returned to the country this week.

According to information from the Department of Repatriation Affairs in the Spin Boldak sub-office of Kandahar province, these individuals had been detained for a period ranging from one day to two months.

The deportees have been sent to their respective areas after registration and receiving humanitarian assistance.
