I've made lots of musical friends around North America while playing online using Jamulus and Jamkazam.

There was a small hiccup when Windows 10 support ran out and my MOTU interface driver wouldn't work on Windows 11, but I managed to sign up for the 1-year extended coverage for Windows 10, so I'm back online again!

@crucialmazda Klingt interessant. Ich mache nicht so viel eigenes, aber bastle gern mit dem #DX7 und #SY77 an Sounds herum. Spiele sonst in der Band (vorzugsweise akustisches) Klavier und eher zahme Pads und ab und zu Hammonds oder Leads.

Während der Lockdowns war ich regelmäßig mit #Jamkazam in internationalen Jam-Sessions, aber danach nicht mehr.

I use both of these services regularly. You can get reasonably low latency if the other musicians aren't too far away and provided you plug into your router with an ethernet cable rather than WiFi.

Jamkazam has more features, but is a paid service. It's not expensive and it's easy to pause or change your subscription depending on your use.

Jamulus is free,. It's server based, so low latency depends on having a server in a nearby city, but it's more stable.
