On our journey to removing gas from the house ... Step 1 completed today ... Gas hob gone and replaced by a new induction hob.
First meal cooked on it tonight and it was a dream ... For those that remember it was "easily turn on and offable"!!! #zerogasjourney #inductionhob
I was a kitchen snob who would only cook on gas. Now an induction hob is my new flame https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/feb/05/cook-gas-induction-hob-electric?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other
Yup.
We shifted to an #inductionhob a couple of years ago. Never going back to gas. Induction is just brilliant.
Oh Mighty Mastodon Collective, please lend your wisdom.
We borrowed a Duxtop 9100MC induction cooktop from the Sierra Club. I love the speed and efficiency, but the high frequency sound gives me headaches.
It happens with different pots and pans. When the power level's on 3 and the induction cycles on and off, I can feel the cycling. It doesn't bother my wife, but it does me.
Is there a different make or model without the high frequency squeal?
People took the merciless piss out of the touchpad keyboard of the ZX80 and ZX81, but this is exactly what our brand new 2023 induction hob provides and apparently this is both normal and fine.
At least there isn't a 16K RAM pack to worry about.
Nice though it is to live here in The Future, this is all a bit weird. I don't know how hot anything is any more. I can't tell if I'm burning my so-called bolognese or undercooking it.
Also, do I need an Induction Hob Protector Mat or are they a scam from Big Induction Hob?
Has anyone out there switched from a gas hob to induction?
If so, how did you find it?
