At the weekend, I finally uploaded my Google Takeout to my #Immich instance.

First, I downloaded the Takeout as tgz, thought it's better, but #immichgo couldn't use it, because it's only accepts zip files... So I extracted the whole 400GB+ stuff, than zipped it >> created a 400GB zip file.
Fortunately that was usable by immich-go, so I ran it for a couple of hours, and now my Immich has photos from 10+ years earlier! ๐ŸŽ‰ ๐ŸŽ‰

Done! And without an error in sight!

Just got to let it process through all of the various jobs it needs to complete now!

I think I may look at hosting the Immich Machine Learning container on my gaming PC though. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ’ญ

So far, the Immich-Go tool is working really well with media extracted from Google Photos via Google Takeout!

I love that it compares the media to what already exists on Immich and decides if it needs uploading, and even replaces the files if it finds a better quality version of a photo or video. ๐Ÿคฉ

This is going to take a while... and it's only 20GB worth of Google Photos.

Three more batches of the same size to download and copy to the local server.

#immichgo doing a fine job so far!

Great project readme too! I was able to do what I wanted in a hot minute! #immichgo #immich
