Originally commissioned as a poster an international children’s literature award in Germany celebrating the anniversary of the wall coming down in 1989. Fruit had came to symbolise the freedom of the west from an eastern perspective, something the wall blocked for so many years. The concept was that fiction was a kind of ‘exotic fruit'.
