Cuphophyllus albatus, close up. These gills are really nice, they give the mushrooms more depth and detail. Cuphophyllus (waxcap) is also known as #hygrocybe, but is actually a different genus.

I often get asked if the mushrooms are real. No, they are not—I make them by hand. The species names I gave them are close to real species but adapted to show that they are actually different.
These silicone mushrooms do have the nice effect of wiggling when moved, which creates a very realistic effect—but they are still not real mushrooms! The clay I’m currently using doesn’t have this property, so I may switch back to another silicone in the future.
