It feels like a step back…

...but could it actually be a step forward instead? I've had several (hip) surgeries since my first one happened in August 1997. Two triple osteotomy surgeries, issues with a huge abcess, issues with a screw in my pelvis, a new hip, a replacement of that hip, issues with the replacement... So, unfortunately, I've been through the mill a lot. And, maybe, it made me a bit cocky when it came to, or when it comes to, dealing with recovery and rehabilitation. Some of the other exercises were going a bit easier, so even though my hip area is still sore and bruised and slightly swollen... I got this thingie out. I used it several times, for a few slow spins, guiding my right leg while it worked. It was slightly painful, but... I could do it. Slowly. Not too much. Not too hard. Just a few spins, some rest, some more spins, some more rest... It took longer to make some space for the bike thingie than it took for me to exercise. 😅 But still, I did it...
Now, some rest...

Not scared, but anxious…

While I am writing this, I am getting closer to the date of the surgery. When this post will go live, I will have had the surgery. Maybe, I will update it a bit before it goes online, maybe I will be too tired, and I will leave it as it is now, as I am writing this… If that makes sense… 🤔

I start writing this on what used to be my grandma’s birthdat, June 2nd. The surgery is scheduled on June 13th, so just 11 more days. Slowly, I am trying to get everything sorted to be ready in time for the op. But, getting everything sorted, realizing that the date is getting closer, it is messing with my mind some…

OK - already back on work for over 3 hours now.
I was able to get up at 5AM this morning, and did exercises right away and got the blood pumping.
I feel good.
Going up and down stairs no problem now.
Wow. I'm impressed with our medical technology these days.
