The thing I was looking for the other day would cost me almost (twice, for 8x8) as much as the storage did. So I guess I'll not be buying it. I feel like 773,50 Euro, (or 1541,05 Euro for the 8x8 version) is more than enough money to incentivise standing up from the desk and walking into the other room to occasionally plug the HDMI cable into a different port.

However here it is #HDMI matrix switch with WebUI, and #HDCP 2.2

I got HDCP errors on my AppleTV late last night. Most of the other issues I’d been experiencing were video output issues.

One recommended fix for this is to pull the power cord from your TV or screen so that it reboots rather than just enters standby mode.

I did that, left it unplugged for a few minutes, and also pulled the power cord from the AppleTV.

That fixed the HDCP errors. Fingers crossed it also fixes the other issues I’m seeing.

@brian_greenberg ...nor will it protect against #MicrosoftRecall or any #ScreenCapture device.

  • Even if they leverage #HDCP (which may brick some setups!)
Do I know anyone who's ever tried to capture an ARM-based #apple #Mac using a capture card? I am running into the dreaded #HDCP issues that seem to be common with these and google's failing me for a solution.
Does using a #HDMI splitter still work for these cases or is there some kind of fancy tool to just disable HDCP for the duration? I'm not planning on capturing copyrighted material, it's just that this is on by default universally on macs for ... a reason that escapes me but I'm sure is very forward-thinking, magical and revolutionary. #streaming #contentCreation #hacks

@benbrown depends on your workflow.

You can even use a #RaspberryPi with the #HDMI2CSI adapter board.

  • OFC you propably need a splitter so the sending device gets a proper #EDID and doesn't negotiate the wron resolution.

Don't forget that cracking #HDCP is a legal no-no, but there's no way for anyone to find out...

1st time that I actually got a #DisplayLink dock working mostly acceptably... after using a DP to HDMI converter cable to not use its singular HDMI port. So either the port is bad or #HDCP was being a pain in the rear-end. Fingers crossed that this will survive reboots... 🤞

(I know one thing: my next laptop will be equiped with USB4 or Thunderbolt. DL is a crutch. And before you ask: the screens' DP connectors are already in use by my PC.)

I just wanted to continue watching The Fall Guy, which I bought from Apple TV. But both on my PC and on my Samsung TV I get an HDCP error in the Apple TV app. What the hell???? The film was still running the day before yesterday!!! 📽️ 🍿

With this in mind: off to bed.

I still remember the incredulity (and later confirmation) as the HDCP 1.4 master key was leaked online. Thanks to segher and Wanda for finally giving me closure on how the whole thing was computed : https://media.ccc.de/v/38c3-the-master-key
