📣 Latest update:
As expected: A reduction from -80 to -70°C reduced the consumption in this specific case by ~28% (from ~13 to ~9,4 kWh).

So this will save ~1300 kWh per year per freezer!

This matches everything I have found on the net. Nevertheless, it was important to test it for ourselves: Very illustrative & followed by very concrete measures.

📣 📣 📣 The shock of my day:

Over the last few days, I measured the power consumption of our -80°C freezers:

~13 kWh per day (each)

 So, one freezer consumes much more electricity per year than my family and me... 🙁

Now, we finally put them from -80°C to -70°C.
( & we need to minimize the number of samples we store)
