i looked at the linked script (generated by Claude), trying to understand what it actually does, and to me it looks like it just prepends the following to your blender shortcut:

env XMODIFIERS=""

But it does such a simple thing in such a long roundabout way that i'm starting to understand why some ppl don't want to run code generated by AI

thanks, so glad i'm not alone in wondering about that! First time i used the denoise option i thought it gave it a nice watercolour look, but then it started creeping on me that it's exactly that painty look genAI videos have! Thing is, when working with a deadline it's very hard not to use it cos it cuts down render time by sooo much. But then i sit in fear of receiving an email like "did you just make it with AI?"

There are lots of potential benefits in a future created in an age of #GenAI pollution of #FOSS. We moan now because it means change, inconvenience and work that gets in the way of what we're trying to do right now.

But it's not as if the pre #LLM world of FOSS was doing ok. I won't list the issues but they ranged from not good to dire.

As we shrink from #sloppification we can address other issues by not replicating the past.

For ex, get off GH to Codeberg/#selfHost, fix pkg repo hell...

Estoy percibiendo algo preocupante en trabajos de fin de grado y máster que he dado en llamar "mentalidad IAgen": textos aparentemente plausibles y correctos que, al leer con mayor atención, demuestran una redacción hueca y poco consistente; a menudo, con importantes contradicciones internas, cuando no incorrecciones de bulto.

No digo que estos trabajos en concretos se han hecho con IAgen, pero está claro que ciertas estudiantes utilizan estas "herramientas" de continuo y el "brain rot" se afianza con tanta rapidez como el daño ecológico, político y moral que causan.
