Ah, the classic "I'm-against-technology" manifesto, because who doesn't love a good Luddite rant in the digital age? 😂 Clearly, this anti-GenAI warrior is channeling their inner typewriter-toting rebel while linking to a blog that's so obscure, it might as well be on a stone tablet. 🪨📜

This's some worthwhile nuance on the Schmidt getting booed story

This commentary on Eric Schmidt's ill-received commencement speech at University of Arizona is spot on: https://youtu.be/tlQ7EoJDTQY It is a thoughtful, stern public call-out of a man who had all the power and opportunity to make the right, ethical decisions at Google, but didn't – and who now demands that students inhabiting the technofascist dystopia he helped create go in and fix it. The booing at that commencement speech was a rare and much-needed moment of accountability for Shmitt. 🔥 #Google

Sam Altman and Dario Amodei are both walking back their AI jobs apocalypse prophecies as they eye blockbuster IPOs

Some leaders like Goldman Sachs’s David Solomon and Box’s Aaron Levie have been saying all along that there won’t be a white-collar wipeout.

🫧 Most generative AI and custom model projects will be a bust: Gartner

「 Analyst firm Gartner thinks at least half of all generative AI projects “will overrun their budgeted costs due to poor architectural choices and lack of operational know-how,” and most organizations that try to build custom models “will abandon their efforts due to costs, complexity and technical debt in their deployments.” 」

Meta is reportedly developing an AI pendant, a wearable device that would bring the company's AI assistants directly into users' daily lives through voice interaction. The device represents Meta's latest push into AI-powered hardware beyond its Ray-Ban smart glasses partnership. https://techcrunch.com/2026/05/30/meta-is-reportedly-developing-an-ai-pendant/ #AIagent #AI #GenAI #Infrastructure

Hot take of the day: #git commits made with (the help of) #GenAI should *not* indicate attribution to AI, because:

1) (non-)attribution does not help project management in any way, as all commits, attributed or not, should pass the same (hopefully stringent) controls and tests;

2) (non-attribution) cannot be verified: a contributor might hide AI use in order to fabricate a reputation, or might falsely attribute in hope that it help getting the commit accepted, and either case would be non-trivial to verify.

The *only* effect of attribution that I can foresee is bragging rights for AI providers (the Linux kernel policy says about as much).

A startup is offering New Yorkers free home cleaning in exchange for recording the session. The data trains household robots. It is the latest twist in paying humans to wear cameras for robot training data. https://gizmodo.com/a-company-will-clean-your-nasty-apartment-for-free-if-you-let-them-record-it-2000765296 #AIagent #AI #GenAI #Robotics

The AI training company proposes a simple trade deal: you get a tidy house, they get a bunch of data.

I got sucked into using Gemini ai to help restructure my website and I’m ashamed of myself.

I have not generated any writing or images for it – just advice on the structure of categories and noindexing certain things.

For a brief moment of time I thought I could make parts of my website really popular (The Junji Ito manga reviews specifically).

But why.

I’m asking myself that right now.

I wanted to be open and honest as I am outspoken about AI and how much I detest generative ai.

How I got sucked in to asking it for advice I just don’t know.

I am not using it now or going forwards.

And everything on my site is, was, and will continue to be, human made.

Fuck gen ai.

Fuck it to hell.
