Fonts in games can have a world of issues, although in regards to subtitles, they are often easily fixable. But that's just one of many accessibility issues. There's also colourblindness, and as is the focus of this article, straight-up blindness.

So... have you heard about Games for Blind Gamers?

My entry for the #GamesForBlindGamers 4 jam: Boléresque! Solve the puzzle by rearranging the score of Maurice Ravel's Boléro. I only had time to make one puzzle, but I think it turned out pretty interesting! Please give it a try!

Day 8 of #GamesForBlindGamers. Feeling good about the potential fun-ness of the puzzle mechanic. I don't want to spend too much time on visual polish, but I'm going to try to make the game deaf-accessible as well as blind-accessible, and to work on touch screens as well as with a keyboard or gamepad. The UI is a bit busy, but serves its purpose. Mysterious screenshot attached for #ScreenshotSaturday.

I'm participating in Games For Blind Gamers again this year!  The jam runs all month, so you still have plenty of time to jump in!

It's a very interesting creative constraint to design a "video" game that doesn't rely on video! Plus you are helping to enrich people's lives, and it's a fun way to pass the long cold nights of February (or stifling hot evenings in the southern hemisphere). There's a wiki with advice on getting started, and I'm happy to provide suggestions, help, feedback, and moral support.

Here's my #GamesForBlindGamers 3 jam entry: Glorpo's Jam-o Demo! You are Glorpo, an alien who operates a deep space salvage and rescue service. This career choice is a bit questionable, since you are a sticky blob creature with no arms or legs, but you'll try your best!

Please give it a try and rate it for the jam! 🙇 It's best on a computer with a gamepad, but playable on touchscreen if you are sighted. Boost requested!

Less than a week left in the #GamesForBlindGamers 3 jam! And I'm traveling next week so I need to get it pretty much finished this weekend!! I'm only slightly panicking!!!

Actually, I'm in a good position and I'm confident I'll have something worth submitting. I work in passes, always keeping the game in a playable state, but growing and improving it little by little, so it's just a matter of deciding when to call it done. As always for game jams, I've been narrowing the scope of my ambition as the deadline approaches. I'm focusing on making one simple level, but relatively polished, like a demo for a full game. I've been making progress in leaps and bounds the past few days. I love Godot (most of the time), it's (usually) so quick and easy to get things done!
