I replied to a reddit comment under a GOG giveaway that said "The {} is back on menu, boys! Thank you!" with something like "More like the ϟϟ is back on the menu, girls", referencing the recent GOG newsletter incident. Despite all of my recent reddit comments condemning the use of those symbols together by GOG, reddit ended up flagging my account for "identity-based hate or attacks" for that comment, so even reddit seems to think that any use of those symbols is unacceptable.
GOG Apologises For Accidentally Emailing Everyone Nazi Symbols
Some things about the recent #GOG controversy which aren't showing up in most reporting:
* The character used in the subject, the small koppa, shows up wildly different depending on font. This rendering is the one they say they intended: https://emoji.gg/symbol/greek-small-letter-koppa - ref https://www.gog.com/forum/general/weird_subject_line_choice_for_a_newsletter/post60
* Their lack of understanding about unicode glyphs and rendering differences shows in them consistently referring to the koppa they used as the sowilo rune, which is yet another character.
* Poland had a national holiday on Thursday, so most people working at GOG had a four day weekend; meaning it's been a skeleton crew handling everything so far, including the boneheaded call to initially only change the German version, instead of halting this completely.
* The person behind the u/GOGcom account on reddit, who did the tone-deaf non-apology talking about their Polish heritage, is almost certainly a new hire (started posting 1.5 months ago; there's a very clear break in tone from that account at that point), for whom this is their first shitstorm - https://web.archive.org/web/20260219043339/https://www.gog.com/en/work/social-media-community-specialist
None of that excuses - but it might explain. I really hope/expect that the needed strong denouncement will come on Monday.

We'll have to see in the coming days, if some of them redeem themselves...
#GOG has always been my number one #gaming platform. Heck, my profile picture was literally GOG-chan for a couple years on every space I was contributing to.
Seeing this new non-excuse for their Nazi email header has me pulling back from them. I'm not sure how much I can blame on the new ownership after CDPR sold it, but things like a Patreon, A.I. art replacing human artists and now literal Nazi shit? Nope. Done with that one.
I'm done.
So if you know me at all, I'm a huge #LegacyOfKain fan (I bought the #SoulReaver Collector's Edition from #LimitedRunGames and patiently waited for it to be delivered over a year later and two last minute delays if that tells you anything). I got an e-mail from LR yesterday with "Kain" in the subject.
So, as I was patiently awaiting an announcement of the physical edition of #LegacyofKainDefianceRemastered, I thought "Yes! Finally!"
I open the e-mail...and...it's just overpriced ports (not remasters) of #BloodOmenLegacyOfKain and #BloodOmen2 for $35 each? Only for #PS5 ? No #Switch version? The Deluxe Edition is $100 with both games and only a steelbook and a softcover artbook (with no picture of it)?
Hard pass. I'll just hang onto my original PC, PlayStation and #GoG copies of Blood Omen as well as my PS2 and GoG copy of Blood Omen 2. Not surprising given LR's rep...but still disapointing all the same.
Hilariously, after confirming that I wish to delete my #GOG account, it has switched my language to Russian--but only for the 'delete account' page. It's still English everywhere else, still thinks I'm in the US, etc.
(Conveniently, I do read Russian. But it is weird.)
I had not been following various shenanigans with GOG _at all_ so that's on me and I probably should have done this sooner, but yeah, no Nazi shit with my gaming, thanks.
