It's baffling that in discussions around Steam, claims of its 30% fee being the industry standard are common but never challenged. On PC, which would be defined as the relevant market in an antitrust case, Steam is essentially the only store that charges that much.

GOG's fee is reportedly flexible. Microsoft takes 12%, Epic 0%, Itch defaults to 10% but allows to adjust down to 0.

Work has been busy this week, so not as much time for #TempusGameIt development.

I did get the catalog packaged with the app and verified it in development. It won't do much for existing users, but new users will see a very fast ramp up for first scan, as the catalog is populated from the json file on first launch.

Once this is done, I can write the client-side step migration code that will backfill the catalog without an entire refetch. And then we can launch #GOG support.

28 years today since the release of 'Parasite Eve', Squaresoft's Sci-Fi horror gem, sprinkled with a hefty dose of B-movie elements on top. Set in New York City, the story begins with NYPD officer Aya Brea attending an opera performance at Carnegie Hall when suddenly every member in the audience spontaneously combusts, apart from herself and the lead soprano, who reveals she is the sentient mitochondrial entity named Eve, with plans that involve destroying the entire human race.

The game serves as a direct sequel to the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena.
