Micheál Martin Strikes Again! #mastodaoine #cartoon #michealmartin #fuelprotests

@IanMoore3000 There were quite a lot this afternoon and evening, but I think numbers were swelled by a mix of groups coming up in solidarity (motorbike clubs), hijackers (petit-fash racists), and day-trippers (jackeens taking tractor selfies).

Perfect time, if anyone were so inclined, to introduce a wealth tax of some form, or form a citizens assembly to inform development of one.

Could be targeted, progressive, counteract inflation, redistribute money more fairly, reduce harmful inequality, promote solidarity and social cohesion, and fund national development, public services, and the common good.

Finally home! That was a crazy 10 days travelling to #Ireland, around it and then back to #Norwich again.

Renewed belief in doing long trips by #EV…charging was straightforward and readily available. No queuing to use petrol pumps during the #fuelprotests.

I don’t think I’ll be heading into the city today though…it’s the local derby - Canaries vs. Ipswich and a far right protest march is taking place in city centre. Police on horseback already spotted.

Things heating up at Whitegate. Defense forces moving in gardai using pepper spray.

End Deportations Belfast statement: The North’s copycat ‘fuel protests’ and far-right agitation.

Many households across the island are undoubtedy in fuel poverty, meaning people cannot afford to adequately heat or power their home. This is often due to economic shocks, corporate price gouging,…

End Deportations Belfast

It starts with "fuel prices too high!"
Then it rapidly turns into...

🤬😡🇮🇪 IRISH FIRST !!!!!! 🇮🇪😡🤬

Emergency services get their fuel from regular forecourts. Just like anyone else.

Still haunted by the #fuelprotests I saw firsthand on the roads approaching Dublin yesterday.

Norway is now reported to have a ‘Diesel Roar’ protest taking place around Oslo.

I think it is just a matter of days if not hours before the UK is hit by such protests.

This will bring into sharp focus how reliant we too are on ‘just in time’ supply chains delivered by road not rail.

There will no doubt be much handwringing and demonising of hauliers and farmers…but will UK gov criminalise them?
