Price caps were a core demand of the fuel protests.
Why does the government refuse to implement them?
Next month it'll be 2 years since we introduced our ‘Emergency Price Controls Bill’, which would impose a cap of €1.75 a litre on petrol/diesel and a €1 a litre cap on home heating oil.
Our bill also includes price caps on gas and electricity - which will continue to go up even higher if this government continues to sit on its hands as ordinary people suffer.
