I know I'm on a "#Brightspace is annoying and lacks features" kick (bc I'm in the weeds with it right now), but just one more thing: My #IT team here at #SUNYFredonia kicks all the butts. Brightspace wasn't their choice but they're managing faculty issues with amazing speed, grace, and (most important) expertise. IDK if any of them are on #mastodon, but I see you and I appreciate the amazing work you're doing.

#SUNY #Fredonia has been waiting to hear that funding will be wildly, after the same happened at SUNY #Potsdam (departments cut, #layoffs, #retrenchment, etc.).

President just announced an all-campus meeting tomorrow.

SUNY has been systematically underfunding teaching-focused universities for years, while demanding we fix "structural deficits".

Whether tomorrow is the hammer or not, it all feels like a #setup, and I'd love to leave academia, now, please.
