We finally reach the destination of this walk: Sanssouci Palace. Unfortunately only from a distance, as the press of tourists closer to the palace was thicker than I was willing to brave. But we can enjoy it at a distance, as well as bask in the glory of the immediate area.

Let us venture into the beautiful Holländische Gärten (Holland Gardens) of Park Sanssouci as well as the Neue Kammern (New Chambers), a glorious orange building flanking Sanssouci proper.

Park Sanssouci, alongside the palace itself, was built on the orders of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, as summer residence in the mid-1700s. Like Neues Palais, the architecture is kept in a gorgeously ornamental Rococo style, which also reflects in the park.

Park Sanssouci, the sprawling gardens of the palace of the same name, can be accessed from the campus of Neues Palais. We will get to Sanssouci later; for now, let us enjoy the many trees in the area!
