Mia KivinenAmsterdam Light Festival has gone through a change – for the better! I certainly didn't expect such a thought-of, clear, stylish and beautiful edition, but oh boy, was I glad to be surprised! Not every artwork was a people pleaser, there were even some artistic risks taken, which I appreciate. Bravi, curators Pam Toonen and Christopher Grabski!
For example this projection mapping Fracture Point by Philip Roca was not a most flashy one. But, and I say this rarely about mappings: I loved it. There was no wow effect, just exploration of the architecture, moving image in polyphony with the static structure.
