I can understand some things being complicated - e.g. they might not be able to block all the Nazi instances like gab etc; but they could just have contact info in bio along with a message that’s like “email, call, or drop by; don’t expect a response from this account”

idk I’m there there are a ton of complication factors, but their current twitter use is untenable. It’s a fascist disinformation website at its core now.

City of Portland comms departments need to fully stop using Twitter.

even now that it’s a de facto Nazi website owned by a deranged fascist illegally looting the country, they still fucking tweet more than they even use flashalerts.

They should at least be regularly using flashalerts, but even better would be the city making a dedicated mastodon server for its departments & offices. Easy, open source, has rss feeds, etc etc

it’s weird that more local publications haven’t embraced what @eugeneweekly is up to: hosting their own #mastodon server (wkly.ws), aggregating local flash alerts, etc.
