Ich würde gerne auf #linuxmint 22.2 #zara updaten. In meinem aktuellen Mint 22.1 hab ich den Fingerabdruck Leser (138a:0097 Validity Sensors, Inc.) vom Lenovo T570 (bauähnlich zum T470) nur mit #open-fprintd zum unter großen Mühen zum Laufen gebracht. Linuxmint nutz ja #fingwit. Mach ich mir beim Update einen Knoten ins OS oder läuft das durch?

#Fingwit is the missing #fingerprint #authentication tool for #Linux. It enhances security by intelligently managing when it should be used.

It integrates with the fprintd daemon and a dynamic PAM module to prevent login issues.

Set to be included in #LinuxMint 22.2, it enables authentication for login screens, sudo commands, and admin tasks.

The tool is Free #opensource software under the GPLv3+ license and provides an #AppImage for easy installation.

Die nächste Version von #Linux #Mint steht in den Startlöchern.

#Mint22.2 mit dem #Codenamen #Zara bringt eine besondere Neuerung. Eine eigene Anwendung namens #Fingwit ermöglicht endlich #Fingerabdruckerkennung.

Mit #Fingwit lässt sich der Rechner nicht nur entsperren. Auch der Sperrbildschirm, #Sudo-Befehle und #Adminrechte reagieren auf den Finger. Die #App erkennt sogar automatisch, wann lieber das Passwort nötig ist.
