Lanie Carmelo#Linux users, particulary those who are #blind, it's been a bit since I've done a Linux install, but I'm installing #ArchLinux on a #VirtualMachine right now. What packages would you suggest to include? I'm doing this during the install process so it can't be anything normally gotten through the #AUR. So far I have #Firefox, #Nano, #Orca, and #Espeakup to get me through until I can install #Fenrir, and the #Gnome desktop environment. Anything else I'll need right away?

Lanie CarmeloJust installed #archlinux on my computer. Stupidly forgot to install #brltty and #espeakup before rebooting though so now have no speech. Would any sighted person out there be willing to help me login, connect to the internet, and install what I need over a #videocall? It shouldn't take too long, and I don't want to boot from the #usb again. #BeMyEyes is great, but I'd prefer help from someone who knows #linux. #blind #tech #technology #arch
Michael Connor BuchanIf #BrailleDisplays weren't so rediculously expensive, I'd love to get one (preferably a small one) and integrate it into a case with a #RaspberryPi. Then I could install #BRLTTY, #Espeakup, maybe even a GUI and #Orca and have a #Linux powered braille notetaker. #Accessibility

At long last, I did an audio walk-through of the installation and immediate post-install (Ideally, none would be needed), in a bit over an hour of my talking and the computer's lovely voice:) For the installation, the #espeakup #ScreenReader is used in the tty.
