A question for my emacs friends who work in the terminal:

I rely on tab-bar-mode for project context (via packages like otpp), but it's unavailable over SSH (no GUI). Any solutions to make tab-bars work in a terminal, or suggestions for an equivalent project-centric workflow that doesn't need them?

Just moved to ruff on emacs-groundup using flymake-ruff. A significantly improved linting experience!

Wish I could get it to work for the reformatting and importing too, but that is a battle for another day.

ruff looks like very interesting tooling. Trying to make it work for Emacs groundup. Has anyone been able to run it with eglot using this pylsp plugin: https://github.com/python-lsp/python-lsp-ruff ?

So finicky!

Emacs users who moved from 28 to 29, what are the biggest differences you notice ? I am thinking of migrating emacs-groundup, but don't want to force it on my users if there are a lot of breaking changes.

So far the biggest one I've noticed is the core integration of treesitter.

I moved from Debian 11 to 12, and the (dare I say it, yes I guess I do...) systemd service I had in place to autostart the emacs daemon has been timing out. The non-daemon works fine. I'm obviously on emacs-groundup.

While I investigate this further, if anyone has faced a similar issue and knows a cure, please do tell and save me some Saturday morning headache :D

Yes. I miss cron sometimes. But that is a different thread for a different time ...

Just noticed that bookworm-backports now offers emacs 29 - tempting me to switch the base emacs version for emacs-groundup.

Any advice, warnings or possible breaking changes for 28 bumping to 29 ?

Hi,

Announcing v0.2 of emacs-groundup! A quick recap of the objectives:

1. A solid, ootb workflow for task and project management.

2. Pre-configured for Julia and python.

3. Can be used as-is by setting few (including zero) parameters. Ideal for users looking to 'try emacs'.

4. Provide a carefully crafted set of evil keybindings (pure emacs experience also possible).

Give it a go! All user feedback and contributions are welcome.
