#Capitalism and greed are a
#lovecraftian #eldrich horror. The more people worship and see it the more they lose their sanity. Its an ever pervasive massive uncaring unfeeling unbeatable monster, a true god that at our current level is impossible to take down. We are its food, and it has devoured millions. Every time we think we have made progress often with a new technology, it then twists reality often with said technology, so we are back to where we started.
If you strike it down in your nation it will be swift to devour you, not because it cares about you, but because it has less food to gorge itself on.
At some point we may figure out how to organize possibly made possible by a new tech we haven't thought about and finally kill it, just like how new technologies were able to defeat the great beasts in the night that hunted us that we feared.
We fight against it not because we will win, we probably wont, but for our own dignity, a proof to ourselves of our humanity and autonomy, to show ourselves we are more than its food.
The CEO shooting made it bleed the tiniest bit, making it angry, as does every labor union vote, every green initiative forced through much slower than it should. These will not kill it but the acts of defiance are ways to prove to ourselves we are more than food, we are people.
Until we accept what it is and stop seeing "the revolution" as inevitable, we may actually slowly figure out a chink in its armor that it can't rapidly recover from and take us back to a new horrible status quo. .
