story time: I finally put 2+2 together on controlling my #DSPD because circumstance led me to go on 2 camping trips when my cycle was wayyy off while avoiding alcohol on said trips, and I effortlessly synced to the solar cycle within 72 hours on both occasions. I also happened to research melatonin dynamics that summer. and thus, I finally found the winning combo of daytime light + microdose melatonin + avoiding alcohol and classical opioids.

This won't make sense to anyone that doesn't know me but I'll be pulling an all-nighter again tonight because I've got a blood test at 3:50 am and it's just easier to stay up for it than try and sleep and then get up for it.

It might seem strange having a blood test at 3:50 am and that's because it is.

I can't change the time when the test is because it absolutely has to happen tomorrow, I only got given the time for it today, and my only option was to cancel.

For the past week, my sleep schedule has drifted much later. Bedtime around 10–11 a.m., with 8 hours of sleep (sometimes biphasic, sometimes monophasic). As someone with #DSPD, this isn’t entirely surprising, but I’ve noticed two key factors at play:

@SleepyCatten interested to know how it helps with the #RSD and also with sleep. I get pretty bad RSD myself. I also suffer from #DSPD. I'm on #dexamfetamine tablets and don't take them after 2pm but I'm still awake until the early hours of the morning most nights.

I've considered going back to my Dr to get a script for #melatonin but if #guanfacine helps with sleep also then maybe that could be the go.

I'm realizing that one of the reasons my sleep cycle is staying stubbornly lagged is that after ... maybe 8 years? my brain has finally learned how to filter out and thus sleep thru the complex set of wakeup alarms I came up with to combat such issues.

hopefully fixing this will only require some fiddling. I already have an alarm app which can demand math problems and puzzles to disable the alarm, I may just need to increase the complexity to wake me up more when solving them. #DSPD

I would have done my French practise yesterday but my day was basically wake up, do a quick run to the Recycling Centre to dump stuff off for my sister, go to watch IDLES, and by the time I got home the day was done according to socio-chrono-norm abiding DuoLingo; despite me still having 7 hours of my day yet to go.
