That even the BBC are now showing the vast majority of their video clips, even the ones of landscapes, in portrait mode just shows how insane this world is becoming.
Genuinely expecting TVs to start being sold in portrait orientation within the next few years or for their default layout to be adverts on both sides with the video only showing in a centre panel.

#kdenlive Linux users: do you get actual 60 fps playback in the timeline?
i have hardware acceleration enabled via VAAPI (Intel GPU), my project is set to 60fps, and i have tried original, transcoded-to-edit-friendly-format, as well as proxy clips. the fps overlay always says 60, but the playback is visibly more like 30.
not a hardware issue, since Davinci Resolve Studio does 60fps without the system breaking a sweat
