Can you believe that a Williams arcade game was capable of displaying an image like this in 1980? It had enough RAM for a 38 KB frame buffer, but a full-screen image like this would be an expensive use of ROM. #Caturday #Dithertron #Catbotron #Catfender #Catjoust

The Atari ST dithers pretty well, even with just 512 colors to choose from. If you had a PNG decoder, you could fit about 40 PNGs on a 720K floppy! #dithertron #8bit #pixelart #atarist
