My workstation was showing repeated disk IO all night.

This morning traced it down to the disk backing /home which is still a spinning disk (& good in this instance).

Turned out Chrome was constantly writing to the disk - not good if it was an SSD.

Killed it and Disk I/O stopped dead.

Oh, this seems to be a known bug... from August 2010!!!

Not the oldest bug I've come across online, but 12.5 years is still a long time!
