Well, the guys at #InsideGames took a page of the #Marathon 1.2M copies article.

On average, each copy returns $30 to Sony. If the rumored $250M investment is true, they require over 8M copies to sell to "break even", without microtransactions.

We will see what happens in the coming months if #Sony doubles down, or goes full ahead to #Destiny3.

Afater a massive marketing campaign, and two weekends, #Marathon numbers look grim.

Their real numbers will be set once #CrimsonDesert releases, making the game:

a) Pay the debt: Ocassional updates, aggresive monetization.
b) Cut the losses: Server shut down in June, layoffs.

In both cases, #Sony will pivot #Bungie to #Destiny3. To me, it will be their "do or die".

Sir, a third #Concord has hit #Steam.

Jokes aside, I consider 80k "healthy", but we're talking about a free weekend and 50% retention. You want grow, no abandonment.

I highly doubt #Marathon will sell 80k copies. For the amount Sony invested in this game, expect this game to die and rapidly pivot #Bungie to #Destiny3.

#CrimsonDesert releases after 2 weeks and will kill Marathon.
