The mighty Delaware is an impressive river no matter where you catch it. We were on Rte. 80 in the Poconos, on the way to Pittsburgh on a rainy day when we crossed it and took this quick snap. Acrylic on MDF board, 10" Γ— 8" #art #artSky #fineArt #acrylic #landscapeArt #DelawareRiver #Poconos

As a #Philadelphia native now living in #SouthFlorida, who lived near #WilmingtonDelaware in the late 1990s and early 2000's I find this tragic tractor-trailer accident baffling. It must have been going at a very high rate of speed across the twin span #DelawareMemorialBridge to crah through guatdails and plunge into the deepest waters of the #DelawareRiver separating New Jersey from the State of Delaware. I remember when the second span was built in the 1960's.

On my walk yesterday near the river. Cherry Street Pier has lots of activity on the weekend after lunchtime. Film Festival, live music, eats, and a wonderful view of boats on the river.
