Magnus Hedemark@lps @futo_tech I’m hoping #deFAANG will trend as the HT representing the urgency behind deranging our digital lives from the big tech companies (I’ve had some ask what is FAANG… for those that aren’t familiar, it’s a common acronym for Facebook Apple Amazon Netflix Google originally, but spiritually it can represent any big American tech companies)
@alemelandri thanks for talking about this. #immich is relatively new on my radar. But I think many of us are exploring ways to #deFAANG. And the way #Apple has done such a good job of integrating all of its products into our lives is part of what makes it so challenging to find solutions for important things like… where do my photos go?
@nivex @frameworkcomputer yeah they are on my radar for my next laptop which might be next year. Thanks for calling them out though! What I’m in the market for right now is more of what might be considered a workstation, I think. Like the Sith Order, I follow a rule of two (a desktop and a laptop). #deFAANG

@knasman yeah that’s the idea. For the computer I’m running #Fedora on commodity equipment. Mobile device I’m still researching. #GrapheneOS looks promising but I’d end up on Google hardware if I did that. So… used in order to not share $ with them. I’m just at the beginning of this exploration. #deFAANG
The concept of a #Fediverse answer to #LinkedIn makes gobtons of sense. This is one of the platforms that makes it hard to fully #deFAANG.
I'm putting some real time & effort to explore ways I can start to #deFAANG my digital life more. I've got some tracks to explore on the computer and mobile device angles.
I'm guessing there's not a great answer for the #smartWatch segment. I mean there's the #Pine64 watch but coming from an #AppleWatch it might be too much of a sacrifice.
