Ehhh I bought myself second hand #pinebook pro and it's not turning on. I think the previous owned did not charge it for very long time and now maybe the batery is dead... Idk. I tried to charge it with USB C cable as he also didn't attach the 5V charger...

I read docs but people come up with some crazy fixes...
Anyone had similar issues? I see that when I plug the C cable the red led is glowing but when I press start button screen continues to be turned off. #pine64

How good is the PineTab2? I've been reading up a little on the Pine64 forums. I have had a PinePhone for a few years now so I have some experience with Pine64 devices.

From what I can gather, for the default OS there have been issues with Bluetooth and Wifi. How stable/usable is the default OS?

I am interested in using mobian/Phosh on the device as that is what I am most familiar with.

Are there any particular gotchas with mobian on the PineTab2?

Testing some updates to the Slackware AArch64 U-Boot configurator, and decided to bring one of the original RockPro64 systems back online -- the same hardware used at the beginning of the AArch64 port.

This machine hasnโ€™t been powered on since 2024. It already feels like a different era.

An overview on running #FreeBSD, #NetBSD and #OpenBSD on the #PINE64 #ROCKPro64 #arm64 board, bare and with PCIe extension cards, in the context of building a NAS system.

*BSD discovery on the PINE64 ROCKPro64

Iโ€™ve been lurking on the PINE64 ROCKPro64 for a long time but its price compared to other options has always kept me from buying one. But being very happy with my ODROID HC4, I went hunting for a ROCKPro64 and found one. I have (a small) ZFS NAS plans for it. But before I get all the hardware, letโ€™s take a quick look at it running various BSD systems.

And now, the #dmesg for this bare #PINE64 #ROCKPro64 board have been uploaded to NYC*BUG dmesgd:

โ€ข #NetBSD 10.1
โ€ข #OpenBSD 7.8

After 5 Years, PineTime Gets a Major Upgrade with AMOLED, GPS, and More - Europe Pub

>PINE64 has built a reputation for delivering open source hardware to people who actually care about what runs on their devices. From single-board computers like the ROCKPro64 and the RISC-V powered STAR64 to Linux smartphones like the PinePhone, the company has been pretty consistent. > >One of their offerings is the PineTime, which is a compact, inexpensive open source smartwatch that has been around since 2019. It started as a community side project, inspired partly by the simplicity of the old Pebble, and is priced at around $26.99

Hey #pine64 - go screw yourselves for this:

A couple of years ago I forgot to take off my #PineTime smart watch when bouldering. Smashed it hard against one of he holds and cracked the screen. It's still working fine, but it's a little annoying.

Figured that I'd get a new one once this one finally gives up.

Now there's a #PineTimePro in the works and as soon as that's out it's very likely I'll upgrade. Or maybe stick to the simplicity of the OG. Or go back to #BangleJS. Who knows... The new watch from #Pine64 seems interesting at least.
